Banking Realms: Educational Dive into 'This Bank'
Banking Realms is a corporate training platform that turns the dry, dense material of banking regulations and product knowledge into an engaging RPG (Role-Playing Game). New hires navigate a virtual bank, interacting with AI customers to solve financial problems and learn company protocols.
Training Reimagined
Traditional onboarding involves weeks of reading PDFs and watching static videos. Banking Realms reduces this time by immersing employees in realistic scenarios where they learn by doing.
Challenge & Solution
The Challenge: “This Bank” faced high turnover rates during the onboarding phase, with new employees reporting that training materials were boring and difficult to retain. Compliance errors were common among junior staff, leading to operational risks. The bank needed a solution that would not only educate but also engage the digital-native generation of workers.
The Solution: We created Banking Realms, a gamified learning ecosystem.
Scenario-Based Learning
Employees play as a “Junior Banker” avatar. They encounter virtual customers with specific needs (e.g., applying for a mortgage, reporting fraud). They must choose the correct dialogue options and follow proper compliance procedures to resolve the issue.
Impact:
- 50% faster time-to-competency
- Higher retention of compliance rules
- Safe environment to fail and learn
Final Result
Banking Realms has revolutionized the training culture at “This Bank,” turning onboarding from a chore into a competitive event.
110k Users Engaged
Over 110,000 new hires have been trained using the platform, indicating its successful company-wide implementation.
40% Learning Boost
Gamified training led to a 40% increase in knowledge retention and a significant reduction in compliance errors among new staff.
7k Modules Completed
Employees have collectively completed over 7,000 training modules, showcasing high engagement with the learning content.
This project proves that even the most regulated industries can benefit from a splash of creativity and gamification.
