Property Tycoon gamifies the complex world of real estate investing. By converting dry financial spreadsheets into an engaging “Sim-Style” strategy game, it educates users on cash flow management, renovation ROI, and mortgage leverage within a persistent 3D city environment.
Play to Learn
Schools don’t teach you how to manage a property portfolio. Property Tycoon does. It’s a risk-free sandbox where players can experiment with high-stakes financial decisions, learning the consequences of over-leverage or poor maintenance planning.
Challenge & Solution
The Challenge: Financial literacy apps are often glorified calculators—boring and unengaging for the target demographic (Gen Z / Millennials). The client wanted to teach complex concepts like amortization and capitalization rates (Cap Rate) but needed a vehicle that would hold the user’s attention for hours, not minutes.
The Solution: We developed Property Tycoon, a cross-platform simulation game.
Dynamic Economy
The game features a living economy. Property values fluctuate based on simulated neighborhood events (e.g., “New Subway Line” boosts value, “Factory Closure” hurts it). Players must react to these market forces, deciding when to buy, sell, or refinance.
