Rush Hour Shopping Spree: Beat the Clock, Ace the Shop!
Rush Hour Shopping Spree gamifies the chaotic energy of a busy mall. Players race against the clock to collect items, dodge obstacles (like slow walkers and spills), and checkout before time runs out. It’s not just a game—it’s a brand engagement tool that rewards skill with real-world vouchers.
Play to Save
Retailers often struggle to engage customers waiting in long lines. This game turns downtime into playtime, offering instant rewards that can be redeemed at the checkout counter immediately.
Challenge & Solution
The Challenge: During holiday seasons and sales events, malls suffer from overcrowding and frustrated customers stuck in queues. The client needed a way to distract and delight shoppers during these wait times, while also driving foot traffic to specific under-visited stores within the mall.
The Solution: We developed Rush Hour Shopping Spree, a hyper-casual mobile game.
Arcade Action
Designed for one-handed play, the game features intuitive swipe controls. Players navigate a 3D mall environment, grabbing power-ups (e.g., “Speedy Cart,” “Price Freeze”) and avoiding hazards.
Mechanics:
- Infinite runner style levels
- Daily “flash sale” challenges
- Character customization
Final Result
Rush Hour Shopping Spree turned waiting in line into a fun, rewarding activity, significantly boosting customer satisfaction scores.
150k Sessions Initiated
The game was played over 150,000 times during peak shopping hours, successfully turning customer wait time into engagement time.
40% Conversion Boost
Stores featured as 'power-up' locations in the game saw a 40% boost in foot traffic and sales.
20K Orders Processed
Over 20,000 real-world discounts won in the game were redeemed at checkout, directly influencing purchasing decisions.
This project demonstrates how gamification can be a strategic asset in physical retail environments.
